Only Fools and Horses

BBC EastEnders star who played Rosie Miller is unrecognisable in forgotten role as Trigger’s niece in Only Fools and Horses

Actress Gerry Cowper featured in the BBC One sitcom long before she arrived as hard-working mum Rosie in Albert Square

EastEnders viewers are sure to remember Rosie Miller and her lazy husband Keith who moved onto Albert Square in 2004 with their children Mickey, Dawn, and twins Demi and Darren. Within minutes of their arrival, the family was branded unruly and received anything but a warm welcome from their neighbours.

However, viewers of the BBC One soap instantly fell in love with the rowdy clan as we all followed their drama and scandal throughout the 2000s. And although it’s been nearly 20 years since the Millers arrived, they are still adored to this day.

The Miller’s was led by mum Rosie who was played by Geraldine “Gerry” Cowper in EastEnders between 2004 and 2006, and the actress also starred on Only Fools and Horses.

The 64-year-old, originally from Fulham, is also famed for her role as Rowan Morrison in the 1973 horror The Wicker Man and has decades of TV credits under her belt including Casualty, Law and Order, The Bill, Dick Turpin, and many more.

Gerry starred in two very famous episodes of Only Fools and Horses playing Lisa, Trigger’s niece, in the Tea for Three and The Frog’s Legacy.

In Tea for Three, Del Boy and Rodney Trotter find themselves battling for Lisa’s affection, and in an attempt to woo her over, the brothers invite their love interest over for tea, but Rodney is already red-faced after a sun bed incident.

To avenge Del Boy for his embarrassing antics, Rodney encourages him to take part in hang gliding over the countryside which doesn’t end well. Turns out Lisa is engaged all along!

In The Frog’s Legacy, Del Boy goes on a quest to recover stolen gold bullion.

Peckham’s favourite wheeler-dealer Del and brother Rodney discover they are entitled to inherit a lot of money after bumping into an old family friend at Lisa’s wedding in Hampshire.

The gold belonged to Frederick Robdal, known as Freddie the Frog, who left the wealth to close friend Joan Trotter, who then passed it down to her sons Del and Rodney.

In this Christmas special, Gerry Cowper is seen as Lisa at the beginning of the episode.

See if you can spot her the next time you tune in to watch a classic Only Fools episode!
