Robin Williams’ Son Zak Posts Touching Tribute to Comedy Icon Father on 7th Anniversary of His Death
Zak Williams, the son of iconic comedian Robin Williams, took to his Twitter on Wednesday (August 11th) to post a touching tribute to his father just seven years after his death.
“Dad, seven years ago today you passed on. The joy and inspiration you brought to the world carries on in your legacy and in your family, friends, and fans you so loved,” Zak tweets with a snapshot of Robin Williams.
Zak then shares that Robin Williams lived to bring laughter as well as to help others. “I will be celebrating your memory today. Love you forever.”
Robin Williams committed suicide by hanging in his home in Paradise Cay, California on August 11, 2014. According to his autopsy report, there was neither alcohol nor illegal drugs involved. But prescription drugs were present in his system. Prior to his untimely death, Williams had reportedly struggled with both depression and anxiety. Extra of his tissue suggested that Williams was suffering from “diffuse Lewy body dementia,” also known as LBD.
Robin Williams’ Widow States There Was A Terrorist Inside Her Husband’s Brain
In 2016, Robin Williams’ widow Susan Schneider Williams stated there was a terrorist inside her husband’s brain at the time of his death. She then revealed that she and Robin had been doing more research on LBD during the final year of his life.
“Robin and I had begun our unplanned research on the brain through the door of blind experience,” Susan states. “Since then, I have continued our research but on the other side that experience, in the realm of the science of it.”
Susan then revealed that within the year of Robin Williams’ death, she set out to expand her view and understanding of LBD. “I met with medical professionals who had reviewed Robin’s last 2 years of medical records, the coroner’s report, and brain scans. Their reactions were all the time; that Robin’s was one of the worst LBD pathologies they had seen and there was nothing else anyone could have done.”
She then reports that one professional described Robin Williams’ condition as it was as if he had cancer throughout every organ in his body. “The key problem seemed to be that no one could correctly interpret Robin’s system in time.”
Susan further explains that Robin Williams died in 2014 at the end of an intense, confusing, and relatively swift persecution at the hand of LBD’s symptoms and pathology. “He was not alone in his traumatic experience this neurologic disease,” his widow explains. She also says that almost 1.5 million people nationwide are currently suffering from LBD.
Susan then adds, “Robin is and will always be a larger-than-life spirit who was inside the body of a normal man with a human brain. He just happened to be that 1 in 6 who is affected by brain disease.”
