A woman who confronted a loud neighbor ended up defending her home in Jackson, Mich., when that same neighbor attempted to break into her house.
At 7 a.m. on Aug. 28, the 26-year-old woman heard loud yelling from an adjoining townhome. The young woman knocked on the wall separating the two townhomes, asking her neighbors to keep the volume down. The 19-year-old man in the neighboring residence, after having been told to stay quiet, grabbed a knife, exited his house, broke a window in the woman’s residence and attempted to get inside the house.
The woman armed herself and called police, but as the man climbed his way into her residence, she was forced to open fire before officers could arrive. The 19-year-old assailant was shot once in the neck. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and was listed in stable condition. Police believe the woman acted in self-defense, and no arrests have been made. (MLive.com; Jackson, Mich.; 8/28/23)
