Bruce Willis Agreed To Appear On That ’70s Show Because Of His Connection To Ashton Kutcher
It was an unlikely cameo, but Bruce Willis agreed to appear on That ’70s Show thanks to the request of Ashton Kutcher. At the time, Kutcher was married to Demi Moore, and the families had grown close. Willis himself called them, “a tribe.” He also detailed the close connection, stating that stems from putting their children first.
“It’s generated a lot of interest because everyone can understand resentment and envy in the breakup of a marriage, but they don’t understand how I can get along with my ex like that,” he says. “Demi and I made a choice to put the kids first, and we’re really lucky that it turns out we all have fun together.”
Although a close connection was created, Willis revealed it took time to reach such a point in their relationship.
“I went from ˜F— love” to ˜Love is truly the answer,” Willis says. “I spent the last 10 years single and, for the most part, unhappy. In a dark place. I never thought that being with someone else was the answer. I would say, “I’m alone, but I’m not lonely. But I was just kidding myself. Then I started hanging around Emma, and on a day-to-day basis my life became much happier.”
The connection was clearly a real one, and it allowed Willis to appear on the series, alongside Kutcher.
Bruce Willis Was Praised For His That ’70s Show Cameo, And Donated His Salary To The American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund
Trying to become a security guard, Kelso needs to sit down with Vic before anything else, the head of security at the club. The role was played by none other than Bruce Willis, who was wearing a hilarious wig during the cameo. Fans had a blast with the guest starring role, some called it the best of the entire series.

Other fans didn’t even realize it was Bruce in the role until years later.

It seems like with hair and mustache, Bruce was able to throw off lots of fans.
Bruce clearly took on the role as an act of kindness towards Kutcher, especially given that he was a complete class act with his salary, donating the funds to The American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. At the time, the funds aided those struggling with the terrible Hurricane Katrina tragedy.
Fans applauded the moment, but it wasn’t Willis’ only memorable cameo on a sitcom.
Bruce Willis Also Received Praise For His Cameo On Friends
While working on The Longest Yard, Matthew Perry made an enticing offer to Bruce Willis. If the film succeeded, Bruce would agree to appear on Friends.
Perry reveals, “Bruce hadn’t been sure the film would work at all, and I’d bet him it would — if he lost, he had to do a guest spot on ‘Friends.”
Not only did Perry win the bet, but it turned into a huge positive for the fans as well. Willis’ cameo turned into one of the most memorable in the show’s history, and many will argue it was the absolute best.
Perry would also praise Willis for the way he was off-camera, and how the actors were able to get along a deeper level.
“Sometimes, at the end of the night, when the sun was just about to come up and everyone else had gone, and the party was over, Bruce and I would just sit and talk,” he said. “That’s when I saw the real Bruce Willis — a good-hearted man, a caring man, selfless. A wonderful parent. And a wonderful actor. And most important, a good guy.”
“And if he wanted me to be, I would be his friend for life,” Perry added. “But as is the way with so many of these things, our paths rarely crossed after that.”
Clearly, the two shared a special bond and one the fans benefited from.
