Del Boy’s Reliant Regan from Only Fools and Horses hits auction for eye-watering sum… but there’s a catch
An Only Fools and Horses themed Reliant Regan has sold for a staggering sum – but there’s a catch.
Featured in the Trotter’s Independent Traders series, the iconic three-wheeled transporter is for sale with a range of accessories.
These include Derek Trotter’s sheepskin coat, hapless brother Rodney’s camouflage jacket and an inflatable doll made famous by the classic episode Danger UXD.
In the hilarious episode, the Trotters are left with 50 questionable self-inflating dolls filled with explosive propane gas.
The vehicle was regularly used by aka Derek “Del Boy” Trotter, played by David Jason, and his younger brother Rodney, played by Nicholas Lyndhurst.
The car is expected to fetch £11,000 at auction.
However, the tricycle is a replica and not the original vehicle from the extremely popular comedy series.
Simon Langsdale, who sourced the car for CCA said: “This superb little van is sure to put a smile on the face of its new owner.
“It’s a well-made reproduction of Derek Trotter’s famous yellow van.
“In the language of the show, that’s certainly exactly what ‘beautiful Jubbly’ means. The vehicle is based in the Hertfordshire area.”
It is up for auction at Classic Car Auctions Online Sale with an estimated auction price of £9,000 to £11,000
The model is finished in classic faded yellow with a black vinyl interior. It’s packed with attention to detail, including the roof-mounted suitcase and of course the inflatable doll.
It has just over 50,000 miles on it and comes with a small history of the vehicle with old MOT’s and some invoices.
It has recently had a service and is described as handling well as it ages.
The van will go on sale on Friday 28 July between 3pm and 5pm www.classiccarauctions.co.uk
