John Wayne’s struck down by child from war-torn Poland after being ‘cruel’ to animal

JOHN WAYNE was taught an important life lesson as a child, with another youngster warning him not to be cruel to animals in a poignant moment that may have played a hand in the actor avoiding enlisting in World War Two.

The legendary actor John Wayne still remains a huge draw for film fans across the globe, with many of his features regularly played to keep them entertained. On Wednesday, from 1am on TCM, his hit In Harm’s Way is the latest to be shown, with Wayne starring in the war epic alongside the likes of Patricia Neal and Kirk Douglas. It follows the tale of the Navy men and their partners who were caught up in the chaos of Japan’s attacks on Pearl Harbour.
