Only Fools and Horses

The Only Fools and Horses and EastEnders extra who was married to a Jurassic Park movie legend

Only Fools and Horses’ Derek Trotter was known for being a bit of a ladies man when it came to his dating life and he was never short of a lucky lady willing to hang off his arm, or join him for some posh grub down at the local curry house. The select few were always guaranteed a steak meal!

In the first series of the classic sitcom wheeler-dealer Del Boy was reunited with an old flame, although it didn’t end well. The Second Time Around episode kicks off when Del is surprised to see one of his old girlfriends back in Peckham after 12 years.

His ex-fiancée Pauline Harris wastes no time in picking up where they left off as she kisses him over the table in The Nags Head. After going back out of a date Del Boy returns to Nelson Mandela House and announces he’s going to marry Pauline, to the shock of Grandad and Rodney who is convinced she’s a gold digger and killer, after she admitted her last two husbands are dead.

Pauline moves herself into the Trotter’s flat and becomes a tyrant but, after some convincing from Trigger, the Trotters do a runner from the penny pincher and head to Clacton. In the episode, Pauline Harris was played by renowned actor Jill Baker.

The 69-year-old has starred in a long list of TV series including Casualty, Happy Valley, Holby City, Midsomer Murders, Touch of Frost, and The Bill. Between 2014 and 2015 the TV star played Margot Summerhayes, the mother of DC Emma Summerhayes, in EastEnders who was dating Max Branning.

She’s also had roles in movies including Notes on a Scandal, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, and Shakespeare in Love – to name a few. And it seems acting runs in her family as Jill’s husband Bob Peck was also an award-winning actor.

Bob is well known for playing Robert Muldoon in 1993 blockbuster Jurassic Park as the game warden who’s proficient with weaponry and a skilled hunter. He also has a long list of TV and film credits including The Canterbury Tales, The Scold’s Bridle, FairyTale: A True Story, The Merchant of Venice, Hard Times, Centrepoint, and many more.

Jill and Bob married in 1982 and had three children, but sadly Bob died in 1999 just aged 53 following a battle with cancer.
