Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith were the backbone of the That '70s Show cast, especially when it came to certain scenes for stars like Mila Kunis.

Shooting the final episode of That ’70s Show was a sad moment for its fans, and it was also tough for the cast. Laura Prepon in particular had a hard time getting over the shoot for the finale.

Although That ’70s Show turned into a major hit, it was quite the risk, especially when assessing the cast. Speaking alongside Deadline, Grace admitted that the majority of the cast was completely green to TV. The only ones that weren’t, were Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith.

Grace praised the TV couple for their patience, especially early on in the series.

“That was literally my first audition, Wilmer [Valderrama] barely spoke English, Laura [Preppon] and Ashton [Kutcher] had never acted, they were models. Now that I have a bunch of years on me, I can see how brave it was for them to choose these kids who had zero experience.”

Grace would also admit that he still apologizes to the two every time he sees them.

“The only people who got caught in the middle of that were these wonderful professionals playing our parents. Every time I see them now I apologize, not for anything in particular, just because I was so green.”

Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp were imperative to the success of the show on-screen, and it seems like they were just as important off-camera as well.

When asked if she ever thought Kutcher and Kunis would end up together in real-life, Debra Jo Rupp didn’t mix her words, immediately answering ‘no’, during an interview with People.

However, did recall a special story, which involved Kunis visiting her dressing room, given that she was nervous for her kiss with Kutcher on the show. The moment was extra special for the actress given that it was her first kiss ever. She was only 15 entering the show.

Rupp recalls the moment, “I remember Mila’s first kiss was Ashton,” she says. “I remember her coming to my dressing room when she had to do that and I remember thinking ‘Oh my God, well at least he’s cute.'”

The couple got married years after the show ended in 2015. And in quite the turn of events, they got to experience the reboot as a married couple. Although it seems great, Kunis was extremely nervous to shoot scenes with her husband.

Mila Kunis called her experience ‘weird’, shooting scenes alongside Ashton Kutcher on That ’90s Show. What made the experience that much more unique, was the fact that the set was exactly the same.

Kunis revealed, “It was weird to shoot together, I will tell you. It made me super nervous. Oh my God, I was more nervous doing that than anything else in my career — was to shoot with my husband on the set of ’70s show. ‘Cause the set is exactly the same.”

“To be married, but to be at the place where we met — and it looks the same — was trippy. We walked on set and I was like, ‘Oh … this is weird.’ It was really weird.”

Kunis also found it bizarre to see how Kutcher actually looks like when he’s acting, something she hadn’t really delved into when they weren’t a couple. A unique experience to say the least for both Ashton and Mila!
