Only Fools and Horses legend David Jason’s forgotten reunion with another of the show’s stars in A Touch Of Frost
The Del Boy Trotter actor reunited with this much-loved cast member
Only fools and Horses may have ended with the final special in 2003, but fans have a special place in their hearts for the cast of the much-loved show.
The two lead characters Del Boy and Rodney, actors David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst have remained in the limelight going on to achieve further fame and success on the small screen.
David Jason became a household name again as Detective Inspector Jack Frost in ITV’s A Touch of Frost, a crime series which concluded back in 2010. While Nicholas Lyndhurst starred in Goodnight Sweetheart as well as appearing in other dramas.
Only Fools fans have been holding out for a reunion ever since the show ended but eagle-eyed followers may remember their favourite characters crossing paths again on the small screen.
Two members of the original cast were in fact reunited in a long since forgotten episode of a Touch of Frost.
The two-part True Confessions episode of A Touch of Frost, which aired in 1997, starred none other than Gwyneth Strong, who fans will know played Rodney’s long suffering wife, Cassandra, in Only Fools and Horses.
In the episode, Gwyneth starred opposite David Jason in a guest role as DS Bailey. While DI Jack Frost investigates the death of Jeanette Barr, found on a nearby riverbank.
Returning from holiday, Frost investigates a drowning death in the river, but the autopsy reveals she was drowned in a bathtub.
Gwyneth, now 61, appeared in 21 episodes of Only Fools and Horses in 1989. Following the success of the show she went to enjoy a string of TV and film roles appearing in Casualty and Doctors.
David is said to have been glad to have Gwyneth in the cast of Only Fools and Horses because she knew what she was doing and fit right in as Cassandra.
More recently Gwyneth has had a role in EastEnders in 2016, playing Geraldine Clough.
