That ’70s Show Star Lisa Robin Kelly Was Planning To Make A Comeback Just Prior To Her Passing

Prior to her passing, That '70s Show star Lisa Robin Kelly had checked into rehab.

The cast of That ’70s Show was a tight group, and that was especially obvious during the finale, as the cast struggled to get through the final episode.

Although her involvement on the show faded towards the end, Lisa Robin Kelly was brilliant in her role as Laurie. Playing the role of Eric’s sister in the show, the actress was able to make the show that much better.

However, behind the scenes, things weren’t as positive for the actress. In fact, during season 6, her scenes needed to be reshot and she was eventually replaced altogether.

Lisa Robin Kelly’s mugshot was making the headlines for all the wrong reasons, after an arrest was made for domestic violence against her ex-boyfriend, John Michas. At the time, Kelly stated that the charges should have been reversed.

Kelly further revealed that she wasn’t on anything at the time of the arrest, and that she was only defending herself. The actress was also saddened by the mugshot that went viral, especially because her mother saw the image as well.

“My poor mother has to see that picture,” she said of her now infamous mugshot. “That’s not what I look like. That’s not me.”

Speaking alongside TMZ, the That ’70s Show star revealed that her struggles really started after losing a baby.

“I had lost a baby,” she said. “As a result of that I lost it. I lost everything and I was abusing alcohol.”

Despite her past demons, Lisa Robin Kelly had plans to get better, and she was making all the right steps prior to her passing, checking herself into rehab.

In the summer of 2013, Lisa Robin Kelly had plans to make a comeback, checking herself into the Pax Rehab House in Altadena, California. Sadly, she passed away at the age of 43 just days after checking in. At first, the cause of death was unknown, however years later, it was deemed as an accidental intoxication.

Her agent Craig Wycoff made a statement following her passing, stating that the actress planned on putting that part of her life behind her.

“I spoke to her on Monday and she was hopeful and confident, looking forward to putting this part of her life behind her. Last night she lost the battle,” he said at the time.

Lisa Robin Kelly had also made a statement of her own, regretting her drinking problem during That ’70s Show. This time, she wanted to make things right and was tired of running from her problems.

“With ‘That ’70s Show’ I was guilty of a drinking problem,” she said. “And I ran. I am not running from this,” Kelly said. “I have paid my dues and if I can make it through this I can make it through anything.”

A sad ending, especially given that the sitcom star was doing and saying all the right things, in an effort to better herself.

Some of Lisa Robin Kelly’s former co-stars took to the media following her passing, paying tribute to her life. Among those names, included That ’70s Show star Danny Masterson.

Masterson tweeted out, “Terrible, awful news. Brilliant on 70s…. See u next time LRK,kisses. RT @sdavis53: #RIPLisaRobinKelly aka Laurie Foreman.”

Kurtwood Smith would also pay homage to his TV daughter, remembering her brilliance during the series.

“I am so sorry to hear about Lisa’s passing away. I know the last 10 years have been such a difficult struggle for her but I will always remember the lovely, funny and very talented young lady I worked with.”

Without a doubt, the actress is smiling from up above these days, with the revamped version of That ’70s Show airing on Netflix, That ’90s Show.
