He’s all man now: Former Two And A Half Men child star Angus T Jones, 22, is unrecognisable with his beard and long hair

He grew up in front of millions of viewers on one of America’s biggest TV shows Two And A Half Men.

Now 22, Angus T Jones is a far cry from the cute young child star who played Jake Harper – famously the ‘half’ in the the Two And A Half Men.

The actor, who is now believed to be a student at the University Of Colorado, was spotted out in Venice Beach on Monday.

Wearing a baseball jacket, he looked like a typical student with his scraggly hair and unkempt beard as he grabbed a coffee.

Texas-born Angus, who was 10 when he was cast as Jake, was written out of the show in Season 10 in 2013 following a rant about the programme’s morality.

Angus – who at one point was earning over $300,000 an episode – appealed to fans to stop watching the show after following the teachings of ForeRunner Chronicles, an independent Christian ministry run by Christopher Hudson.

In a video posted on YouTube in November 2012, Angus said: ‘If you watch Two and a Half Men, please stop watching Two and a Half Men. I’m on Two and a Half Men and I don’t want to be on it. Please stop watching it. Please stop filling your head with filth.

‘A lot of people don’t like to think about how deceptive the enemy is. There’s no playing around when it comes to eternity… People will see us and be like, “I can be a Christian and be on a show like Two and a Half Men.” You can’t. You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that. I know I can’t.

‘I’m not okay with what I’m learning [about] what the Bible says and being on that television show. You go all or nothing.’

Following his rant, he was written out of the CBS comedy with his character Jake joining the army and being sent to work in Japan.

In March 2014, he described himself as a ‘paid hypocrite’ in an interview with a Texas radio station.

He explained: ‘It was making light of topics in our world that are really problems for a lot of people. I was a paid hypocrite because I wasn’t okay with it, but I was still doing it.’

Following his comments, Angus ended up apologising to the show’s creator Chuck Lorre and was able to return for the series finale in February 2015.

Lorre told Variety last year: ‘That’s all water under the bridge. He apologised shortly after (his comments). We’re on good terms. We reached out to him he was eager and excited to do it.

‘It was like old times – except that he’s not eight years old any more. But we had so much fun with him all week.’
