Only Fools and Horses fan makes X-rated confession over ‘hench’ Uncle Albert

BBC Only Fools and Horses fans were left doing a double take at their screens after coming across snaps of a "hench" looking Uncle Albert - played by Buster Merryfield

Only Fools and Horses fans have been left stunned after seeing a rather “hench” Uncle Albert on their screens.

The much-loved character, played by Buster Merryfield, joined the smash hit sitcom in 1985 as another member of the Trotter family.

Buster sadly died in 1999 aged 78 in Poole, as a result of a reported brain tumour.

However, photos of the actor have made their rounds online recently – and it’s fair to say fans are feeling a little flustered.

In the snaps, which are thought to be from the show, Buster can be seen wearing a white mesh vest and braces as well as a pair of navy shorts.

His iconic and distinctive white beard was on full show too and the BBC star was looking a little ripped too.

A fan shared the pictures on X, formerly known as Twitter, and wrote alongside them: “Is it just me or is Uncle Albert f*cking hench?”

Other fans were left with their jaws on the floor as well, with one replying: “Wow! Fair play to him. He was 66 when this was filmed and I wouldn’t want to fall out with him here pal!”

A second joked: “Not my proudest w*nk,” as a third quipped: “Uncle WOWbert!”

Echoing their thoughts, someone else penned: “WOW – I never spotted that but will have a gander now, those guns.”

Buster Merryfield joined Only Fools and Horses as Uncle Albert, following the sudden death of actor Lennard Pearce.

Uncle Albert was the younger brother of Grandad, and was first introduced in the series four episode ‘Strained relations’.

Throughout the series, Uncle Albert would often tell Del Boy and Rodney stories of his days at sea.

Before Only Fools and Horses, Merryfield was a national boxing champion for the Army – which may explain his ripped physique.

He then went on to work in a bank for 40 years, and began his acting career after retiring from his job at age 57.

Merryfield sadly died in 1999 aged 78 in Poole.

Following Merryfield’s death, Uncle Albert was remembered in the Only Fools and Horses 2002 Christmas Special, where Del Boy and Rodney attend a Navy memorial ceremony in France to honour him.
