Clint Eastwood

Revealed How Clint Eastwood Stays Healthy So He Can Continue Working At 90.

If you ever find yourself wondering how Clint Eastwood has managed to stay so damn healthy despite being in his 90s, we’ve got your answer. And yes, even us normal people can follow his plan.

Of course, most people think that looking like a movie star is completely unattainable. And we’ll admit that most of the time, that’s true. But the Unforgiven actor doesn’t prescribe to an expensive or obnoxious nutritional plan. Instead, he simply lives a healthy lifestyle.

So how does he do it?

When Eastwood was a cover model for Muscle & Fitness in 1991, he laid out his daily routine. At that time, he admitted that he was blessed with good genes and naturally low body fat, but he still only ate the purest and healthiest of foods. And on top of that, he stuck to a strict workout schedule.

The actor’s personal physician, Dr. Harry Demopoulos, also chimed in to say that “he never eats fat, he takes antioxidants his faithfully, works out like a demon, and gets plenty of sleep, which is an area that is often neglected in a fitness program.”

And though the interview was over three decades ago, Eastwood still follows the same rules. The four-time Oscar winner lives off of fruits, vegetables, pasta, and fish. And he takes supplements to cover any nutrients he’s missing.

Clint Eastwood also stays away from dairy and red meat to keep healthy in his 90s. And we’d say his lifestyle choices are working out for him.

“Stay away from carbohydrates, especially rich desserts,” Eastwood told Health Fitness Revolution in 2015. “Keep a scale in your bathroom. Get proper rest. Try to be optimistic. Eat fruits and raw vegetables. Take vitamins. Skip beverages loaded with sugars. Avoid alcohol in excess.”

Clint Eastwood is Healthy in his 90s Because of a Family History of Cardiovascular Disease

But the reason he takes his health so seriously isn’t just to look good or even to keep up his career. Clint Eastwood stays motivated because his father died of cardiovascular disease at only 63 years old. And he’s determined to escape suffering the same fate.

The actor was grown by the time he lost his dad. And he was already emersed in the wellness world at the time. But when Clint Sr. died, Eastwood admitted that it “hit” him “like a ton of bricks.”

In Clint Eastwood: The Biography, author Richard Schickel shared that the actor was always bothered by his dad’s unhealthy eating habits. And it helped shape his decisions on how he treated his body.

Eastwood also made sure to pass his healthy habits on to his children.

In a 2017 interview with Men’s Health, his son Scott Eastwood admitted that growing up, his dad was hyper-focused on teaching him how to stay fit into his own golden years.

“My dad is a machine about food and exercise,” he said. “He showed me how to lift when I was 14 or 15 — the bench press and other basics. He made it clear it was more important to do the moves correctly than to put on more plates.”

And like Clint, Scott knows how to fill his body with nutritious foods. The 36-year-old actor admitted that he lives off of “healthy, good proteins like salmon, chicken, followed by lots of veggies, broccoli, asparagus, lots of greens.”
