Taylor’s & Company Firearms expanded its lineup of classic single-action revolvers in 2022 with its all-new Gunfighter Defender. The new revolver takes the basic concept of the original Gunfighter single-action from the company and blends it with a Model 1860 Army revolver grip and Taylor’s lowered Runnin’ Iron hammer spur to make for a lightning-fast, easy-to-handle wheelgun.

The Model 1860 Army grip is generally longer and wider than the smaller Model 1851 Navy grip usually found on Colt Single Action Army clones. This provides a greater gripping surface with more control than is typical on the single-action army. Additionally, Taylor’s lowered hammer makes it easier for shooters to reach the hammer spur with their thumb, ensuring quick cocking for a fast follow-up shot.
Each Taylor’s & Company Gunfighter Defender is built on a case-hardened, forged-steel frame and features blued components, a hand-polished action and custom springs. Two chamberings are available in the new Gunfighter Defender line, .357 Mag. and .45 Colt, and both models can be had with either a 4.75″ or 5.5″ barrel.
