Gina Lollobrigida Says Her Relationship With Son Is Ruined Because Of The Bitter Legal Battle Over Her Fortune

They say blood is thicker than water, but when big money comes into play, even the strongest family bonds can be ruined. Legendary Italian-born actress Gina Lollobrigida knows it too well.

Gina’s row with her only child over her vast fortune

According to estimates, the 91-year-old retired actress is worth about $50 million. Sounds impressive! And her son and only heir, Milko Škofič Jr., is worried about mom’s vast fortune.

Back in 2014, Milko took legal action in a desperate attempt to get a court-appointed administrator to manage his mom’s finances. Speaking to an Italian paper, he said he feared his mother “was no longer capable of handling her affairs by herself.”

Milko claimed that Gina’s “young male assistants” were trying to swindle her out of her millions. This statement may sound especially credible after the retired actress sued her former lover, 34 years her junior, for arranging a sham marriage without her knowledge and consent to claim her fortune after her passing.

But what does Gina have to say?

The actress’ own words could be a good reason to think her son’s fears are justified and he really won’t get a penny from her.

Gina, now 91, was offended by Milko’s interference in her personal life and his attempts to get someone to control her finances. She said in a 2018 interview with Inquirer Entertainment:

[My son is] a disappointment. They should do a brainwashing on him. He doesn’t understand anything anymore. He just follows bad advice. This is my curse—not everything can go well, unfortunately. He was a good boy. Now, he’s no longer himself.

Gina acknowledges her son is worried that all of her money may go to her manager, Andrea Piazzolla. She said in an interview with Vanity Fair: “[Milko] is afraid I will give the money to Andrea.”

When asked if her relationship with Andrea, who is decades younger than her, is of romantic nature, Gina simply laughed off such claims.

If you’re wondering how the legal drama involving Gina and her son played out, here’s what you need to know: the court ruled that the retired actress is in sound mind and doesn’t need an administrator to oversee her estate.
