Mila Kunis’ Kindness On The Set Of That ’90s Show Wowed One New Star

That '90s Show star Reyn Doi recounts a story with That '70s Show actor Mila Kunis, emphasizing her kindness while checking up on the new cast.

That ’90s Show star Reyn Doi opens up about his experience working with the original cast member Mila Kunis and her kindness on the sets of the Netflix spin-off. That ’90s Show is an American television sitcom based on its predecessor, That ’70s Show, that premiered on Netflix on January 2023. The show garnered popularity due to nostalgia, which included several original cast members reprising their roles while still focusing on the new younger cast in the spotlight. Among the returning cast members was Mila Kunis, who again played her iconic role, Jackie Burkhart.

In his interview with ET Canada, Reyn Doi, who plays Ozzie on the show, talked about the cast reaction to the news and what it was like working with the original cast members on That ’90s Show. Though the new cast members did not have a scene with the original cast members, Doi stated that watching them perform was a significant learning experience. Mila Kunis was mentioned, in particular, as she would check in on everyone and converse with the actors’ mothers. Here is the full quote:

“When we were filming the pilot, Mila was, you know, going from door to door, just kind of checking in on everyone. I think she was asking the [actors’] moms questions or something like that… And I guess she thought I was in my dressing room, but I was in the school room across the hall. And so, you know, I heard a knock, [but assumed it was] someone getting me to go to set. And so my mom answered the door because she went in the room and all of a sudden [I heard a] scream from across the hall. And it was my mom, because she was so like starstruck that Mila was like, in front of her because, like, we knew Mila was there, but we never knew who was going to come to our dressing room. And then I went over across the hall, and then I was like, ‘Oh my God, it’s Mila.'”

What Season 2 Might Contain?

That 90s Show main cast

That ’90s Show is set fifteen years after That ’70s Show finale in the summer of 1995. The Netflix show’s finale left Leia’s relationship with Jay and Nate unclear, which has set up a potential storyline for season 2. Season 2 will reportedly have 16 episodes, a huge increase from season 1, which only had ten episodes. This episode increase will likely allow more time to focus on each character’s arc and possibly give more guest appearances from the original That ’70 Show cast, as Kunis and Ashton Kutcher only appeared for one episode.

It is expected that most of the young cast members will return to season 2, alongside Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith, who play Kitty and Red Foreman, respectively. There is currently no confirmation if any of That ’70s Show original actors – such as Topher Grace, who played Eric Foreman – will make additional guest appearances in season 2. Given that the original cast members’ characters are the parents of the younger generation, including Kunis’ Jackie as Jay’s mother, the possibilities are likely that they will make more guest appearances in a fashion similar to Fuller House.

That ’90s Show season 2 will likely fast forward to the next summer to continue the drama left behind by Leia and her friends since Leia returned home for school at the end of season 1. Netflix has not released new details of when season 2 is expected to drop. Nevertheless, That ’90s Show has a promising future to continue That ’70 Shows legacy, and it already made a great first impression with its nostalgia.
