“We almost got into a fistfight”: Brad Pitt Was Forced to Intervene When Shia LaBeouf Almost Punched Clint Eastwood’s Son in $211M Movie

Shia LaBeouf’s cinematic fame is riddled with the behind-the-scenes of his personal life controversies and scandals. He had instances where he got into verbal disputes with his co-stars or other celebs on many occasions.

While filming David Ayer’s 2014 war movie, Fury, LaBeouf again found himself in a hot verbal exchange with his co-star and Clint Eastwood’s son, Scott Eastwood. Brad Pitt who played Wardaddy in the film had to intervene.

Shia LaBeouf And Scott Eastwood’s Dispute On The Set of Fury

When Brad Pitt and Scott Eastwood were filming a scene in Fury, Shia LaBeouf got in the way out of nowhere when he saw Eastwood spitting on the tank which was a primary essence of the movie. Certainly, LaBeouf was not happy seeing all that and had heated arguments instantly. “We almost got into a fist fight,” Eastwood told GQ in an interview.

“I was in the middle of a scene with Brad Pitt, and chewing tobacco. He wasn’t even in the scene, but he got it into his acting mind that he didn’t like what I was doing, so he said I couldn’t be spitting tobacco on ‘his’ tank. He told me to clean it up. I pretty much told him to f*** off.”

Pitt had to “break it up! It was kinda funny. But I don’t get his deal. He wants to be a tough guy, I guess,” he added. The duo had developed some bad blood indeed. Eastwood further said that LaBeouf “pain in the a*s” and he’s “sh*ttng his career away.” Also, he explicitly pointed out that he’s very hard to work with.

Pitt has a very different version of the story. The Fight Club actor said that most actors were bonded with each other and the tank, “And something happens – it becomes very personal. You know, that’s my tank,” Pitt told GQ in another interview. The actor also revealed that before LaBeouf, he even told Eastwood not to spit tobacco on the tank.

“Yeah, that came from me. We were driving down the road, I’m in the turret, Shia is at the other turret, and Scott is on the back, spitting juice. And I’m starting to get pissed off, I’m starting to get hot, because this is our home, he’s disrespecting our home, you know? So I said, in the scene with the cameras rolling, ‘You’re going to clean that shit up.’ Shia clocks it, and you have to understand, we’ve been through severe boot camp already, we’ve been through a lot in this tank. Shia saw it and felt the same – he’s disrespecting our home. So Shia had the same reaction I did, and started having some words.”

However, when the heat of the argument reached a paramount, Pitt came in to break it up. By the look of it, it seems Eastwood is at fault here, however, Pitt revealed that the funny thing is, “when we got home at the end of the day and read the script, it said Scotty’s character is ‘chewing tobacco and spitting it on the back of the tank’. He was just doing as instructed in the script! So we were the knobs in the end…” Still, the beef between LaBeouf and Eastwood remained.
