10 Original Characters That Can Still Return In That ‘90s Show Season 2
Eric, Donna, and the gang return in That ‘90s Show, but there are still That ‘70s Show characters that can appear including exes and old friends.
That ‘90s Show features a handful of returning characters including Red, Kitty, Eric, and Donna, but there are still That ‘70s Show characters that can return for That ‘90s Show season 2. The gang is all grown up and becoming “upstairs people,” according to Red. The parent storyline makes it easier to bring back familiar faces living in Point Place who may be parents in 1995.
That ‘90s Show works because of plot holes that occur in That ‘70s Show. Accurate timelines can be altered slightly or ignored entirely to fit desired storylines. Because of plot holes, original That ‘70s Show characters can easily be written into That ‘90s Show season 2 for nostalgic cameos.
10Pam Macy
Pam Macy is popular, promiscuous, and beautiful in That ‘70s Show. She is a thorn in Jackie’s side, causing Kelso and Jackie’s first fight after Kelso and Pam are caught making out behind the school gymnasium. Kelso also takes Pam to the prom, forcing Hyde to be nice to Jackie as her prom date.
Though Pam doesn’t have a huge role in the series, she’s a reason for perpetual turmoil between Kelso and Jackie. That ‘90s Show makes Jackie and Kelso’s marriage perfect but inserting Pam in That ‘90s Show season 2 can cause further instability since Jackie and Kelso have already divorced twice. It would also be interesting for Pam Macy’s child to interfere with Jay and Leia’s relationship just like their mother.
9Mitch Miller
Portrayed by Seth Green, Mitch appears every so often in That ‘70s Show as Eric’s antagonist. Mitch and his dad compete against Eric and Red in the Point Place Paul Bunyan Pioneer events and is a member of the school paper. However, he and Eric actually have a lot in common and the gang likes Mitch much to Eric’s dismay.
That ‘90s Show pays homage to Eric’s Star Wars obsession with his daughter Leia. Mitch has a similar Star Warsobsession, so it seems likely that his offspring may also have a Star Wars-inspired name and fit right into That ‘90s Show season 2. It would be especially funny if Mitch happens to have a son named Luke who also doesn’t get along with Leia.
8Big Rhonda
Big Rhonda and Fez are an unlikely pair. She is brash and strong while Fez is weak and timid. However, they both love candy and Fez sees the beauty in Big Rhonda when his friends make fun of her. Unfortunately, Big Rhonda dumps Fez when he tries to get to second base due to advice from Casey Kelso.
Kitty makes a good point about Fez in That ‘90s Show, questioning why he never went back to his home country. Since Fez still lives and works in Point Place, it seems like that Big Rhonda can make an appearance at any time. Now that Fez is successful and confident, perhaps a relationship with Big Rhonda could work a second time around
7Caroline Dupree
Caroline has always been obsessed with Fez. While dating, she threatens to choke herself if he ever leaves, and she gets hyper-jealous of Fez’s friendships with Donna and Jackie. She goes as far as stalking Fez while he’s pretending to date Donna. Caroline truly loves Fez and that attention he gives her, but she’s emotionally unstable.
That ‘90s Show explains why Fez and Jackie broke up following the That ‘70s Show finale. Though Fez is now with Sherri, it seems entirely plausible that Caroline could pop up and begin stalking his relationship again. Sherri is already questioning whether she and Fez should be together and Caroline’s interference could be the nail in the coffin or help her and Fez grow closer.
6Casey Kelso
Casey is a bad influence on Donna when they begin dating following her breakup with Eric. As Kelso’s older brother, Casey is just as womanizing and charming to everyone including Red and Kitty. Casey showing up in That ‘90s Show season 2 seems like a good fit for him to have a bad influence on the new gang.
Leia is following in her mother’s footsteps by dating a Kelso. That ‘90s Show’s big romance pays off Donna and Casey’s story while giving a nod to Laurie and Kelso’s brief romance. If Casey makes an appearance, Kitty and Sherri will surely swoon while Jay needs to stand out as not just the average womanizing Kelso.
5Buddy Morgan
Buddy is Eric’s rich lab partner portrayed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The two become quick friends often hanging out together until Buddy makes a move on Eric and admits his sexuality. Though Eric doesn’t return the feelings, the two remain friends.
That ‘90s Show’s coming out scene showcases the real stars of That ‘70s Show while paying tribute to Buddy’s coming out. Now that Ozzie has revealed his sexuality to Kitty, Buddy should return to Point Place and help Ozzie navigate his sexuality while being a good role model. Similar to Red and Kitty’s gay neighbors from That ‘70s Show, Buddy could easily return with a husband and children.
4Brooke Rockwell
Brooke is the smart girl who hooks up with Kelso at a concert and ends up pregnant. Kelso tries to become more responsible to prepare for fatherhood. Though Brooke is initially skeptical about Kelso becoming a father, she keeps the baby and moves to Chicago to live with her mother with Kelso following behind.
That ‘90s Show ignores Kelso’s major storyline: becoming a father. Though Kelso and Jackie are parents to Jay, his daughter and Brooke are never mentioned. It would be interesting to see Brooke return to Point Place for Jay and Betsy to have a relationship now that they’re teenagers. Even just mentioning what happened to Brooke would confirm if That ‘90s Show has retconned the storyline.
3Betsy Kelso
Betsy is Kelso and Brooke’s daughter born in 1979. Though she’s only seen as a baby and eventually moves to Chicago with her mother, Betsy would be 16 years old in 1995 during the events of That ‘90s Show. Her half-brother Jay is also roughly 16 years old.
Considering Leia turns 15 in That ‘90s Show, and it’s a potential hole with the timeline, Betsy is around the age of the new gang. Though she likely grows up in Chicago, since Kelso and Jackie live in Point Place, it would make sense for her to come visit her father during the summers. Jay has yet to mention a sister in That ‘90s Show season 1, but it’s still possible for Betsy to make an appearance in future seasons.
2Joanne Stupak
Joanne is the girlfriend of Bob for That ‘70s Show seasons 4 and 5. Outspoken, she regularly butts heads with Red, but appears to be a good influence on Bob. She is handy with barbecuing and helps Bob develop a much-needed backbone before she breaks up with him for an unknown reason.
Bob’s That ‘90s Show return is tragic since he lives in Florida and doesn’t have a strong relationship with Leia. Joanne returning could bring Bob back to Point Place and give him a happy ending with a full family since it doesn’t seem as if he has a significant other waiting for him in Florida. Joanne could be the key to reuniting Bob with his family.
1Randy Pearson
As Donna’s That ‘70s Show season 8 love interest, Randy is hired by Hyde to work at the record store and quickly becomes part of the gang. Randy is funny with a good head of hair but is essentially Eric’s replacement after Eric leaves for Africa. Randy is just one of the major characters missing from That ‘90s Show.
Randy is last seen in the penultimate episode “Love of My Life” where he’s trying to figure out what went wrong in his and Donna’s relationship. He’s the only character missing from the Foreman’s New Years Ever party likely to avoid interacting with Eric. Randy returning in That ‘90s Show would give closure to what happened to him and determine if he ever came between Eric and Donna.
