Most of us have received words of wisdom from people we admire. And in many of those cases, we have never forgotten the advice they shared with us. This is true for “NCIS” star Wilmer Valderrama.
The 41-year-old television star was lucky enough to receive memorable advice from one of the most beloved actors and comedians of the last four decades. That beloved actor was the late Robin Williams.
It was during a recent interview with Us Weekly that the “NCIS” actor opened up about what Williams had to share with him. Here’s what Valderrama had to say about those words of wisdom: “The greatest advice I’ve ever received was from Robin Williams: “Never forget. And always remember … It’s supposed to be fun.”
Williams was most likely referring to working as an actor. However, his words ring true for most jobs. If you’re not having fun doing what you’re doing – why keep doing it? Of course, that is easier said than done for many people. However, that advice from Robin Williams could serve as motivation for many.
During his many decades in television and film, Williams brought joy and laughter to millions. He did so with his roles in such beloved projects as “Mork and Mindy,” “Good Morning, Vietnam,” “Dead Poets Society,” “Hook,” “Mrs. Doubtfire,” “Aladdin,” “Jumanji,” and many, many, many more.
Sadly, Robin Williams passed away in August 2014. He was only 63 years old at the time of his death. He is remembered by “NCIS” star Wilmer Valderrama and countless others.
“NCIS” Star Has a New Project In the Works
It appears that “NCIS” star Wilmer Valderrama is following the advice that the late, great Robin Williams shared with him. One way he is doing so is with a new television project.
According to Deadline, this new project is a family comedy that will air on CBS. It is titled “Mexican Beverly Hills.”
Joining the “NCIS” star in this effort are Aaron Izek and Erick Galindo. The inspiration for this new family comedy was an essay Galindo wrote for The New York Times. That essay was also named “Mexican Beverly Hills.”
The new sitcom will focus on a working-class Mexican-American family. The show will follow this family as they move to the city of Downey. Unsurprisingly, this city has the nickname “Mexican Beverly Hills.”
It is in this new city that the family finds themselves becoming part of the community. But at the same time, they also become aware that they aren’t exactly the same as the people who live there either.
For this new television series, “NCIS” star Wilmer Valderrama will serve as an executive producer. The show will also be created as part of his WV Entertainment label. Another executive producer will be Kaitlin Saltzman. Aaron Izek and Erick Galindo will write for the series. They will also serve as executive producers.
