Only Fools and Horses actors who played Nervous Nerys and the Driscoll Brothers re-unite more than 30 years later
TV stars Andree Bernard, Christopher Ryan, and Roy Marsden all starred in the popular BBC sitcom during the 1980s
Only Fools and Horses stars have reunited decades after starring in the BBC One sitcom. Actress Andree Bernard rubbed shoulders with the Driscoll brothers actors Christopher Ryan and Roy Marsden at a convention on Sunday (May 22).
The legendary TV show was launched on September 8, 1981, with the first episode ‘Big Brother’ broadcast to comedy fans. The Nag’s Head pub was a well-known location in the sitcom and was the focus of so many funny scenes and squabbles. The pub also saw many barmaids come and go over the years.
Landlord Mike Fisher (Kenneth MacDonald) was famed for being the show’s dry-witted pint puller and once had help from barmaid Nerys. However, she became known as ‘Nervous Nerys’ after she was left terrified when a gang of thugs chased the iconic yellow Trotter Van whilst Rodney (Nicholas Lyndhurst) was left behind the wheel.
Nerys was played by actress Andree Bernard and only appeared in two episodes, Dates and Sickness and Wealth, between 1988 and 1989 but is remembered as Rodney Trotter’s former love interest.
The Discroll Brothers also once paid a visit to The Nag’s Head and were mentioned various times throughout Only Fools and Horses however they actually only appeared in one episode as Peckham’s answer to the notorious Kray twins with their aggressive gangster ways.
The duo starred in the episode Little Problems, which aired in 1989, as they come looking for Del Boy and payment for the hooky mobile phones, and it doesn’t end well.
Danny (Roy Marsden) is very much taller than Tony (Christopher Ryan) and the unlikely brothers went to star in three episodes of Boycie and Marlene’s spin-off series The Green Green Grass.
Although Nervous Nerys and the Driscoll brothers never starred in the same episode, the actors all met up at the recent Only Fools and Horses convention.
Taking to social media on Sunday, Andree Bernard posted an Instagram story along with the Driscoll brothers. She sits smiling in between the ‘Peckham gangsters’ as Roy Marsden holds her shoulders and Christopher Ryan looked candid at the camera.
The Only Fools and Horses Convention took place last weekend (May 22/23) in Bedford and was arranged by the official appreciation society in celebration of the show’s 40th anniversary and also featured other stars from the sitcom.
