Only Fools and Horses fans still have a tear in their eyes when they think about Del Boy on that jet ski.

The iconic moment in the 1991 Miami Twice Christmas special of the much-loved BBC show has gone down in Only Fools and Horses history.

But did you know the moment also featured a future movie star who would rub shoulders with the likes of Will Smith? Unfortunately it wasn’t David Jason.

Antoni Corone played the role of Ricardo “Rico” Occhetti. The Mafia gangster is stunned to find that Del Boy looks the same as his father Don Vincenzo Occhetti and schemes to kill him to help fake his dad’s death.

Rico, knowing his dad is up for trial and life imprisonment spots Del Boy and “befriends” him, hoping to get him killed so everyone thinks his dad has been killed, sparing him his trial but soon Del and Rodney find that he is the double of a Mafia boss and escape Rico and his fellow Mafia gangsters.

Since starring in the episode Antoni has had a 25 year career in the spotlight including starring alongside Will Smith in Bad Boys 2.

Usually cast as rugged, slightly imposing and domineering types Antoni has played club military men, officers of the law and mob types.

He also starred in We Own The Night, Oz ,I Love You Phillip Morris, Sunlight Jr.i and the Sounds Of Philadelphia.

The actor also worked with Matt Damon on The Green Zone in 2010 and with Jim Carrey in I Love You Phillip Morris.

Antoni also played the role of Buck Savage on American children’s show Kenal and Kel, which anyone who grew up in the 90s and early 00s will remember on Nickelodeon, and has also had an unique career away from the screen.

He produced, wrote and co directed the web series sensation The MobKing.

The actor also became known for his street photography of New York city and used his grandfather’s name, Miff Biscotti, as an alias to promote his work.

Antoni also produced a CD of deep house tracks to help him deal with the death of his father under that same MIff Biscotti alias.
