Celebrities and fans alike express their appreciation for the late actor, referencing his iconic movies with either words, screenshots, or gifs.

Josh Gad, recently known for his portrayal as Olaf from the Frozen series, shared his response with a gif from Williams’ movie The Birdcage. Other fans of Gad agreed with him, referencing other famous roles like the Genie from Aladdin. One Twitter user added when they mentioned Williams, “He gave us so many laughs, lifted our spirits and yet he was so sad.”

His famous quote, “People don’t fake being depression… they fake being okay,” is definitely something to live by as it’s easy to fake a smile than look down all the time. Another quote people like to bring up, “Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about,” is also extremely important to remember.

His wisdom is something that needs to be taken note of. A lot of his characters offer good messages and his capability of bringing those roles to life transcends throughout time. Fans of his work will know that he has been a huge inspiration in their lives, whether that’s intentional or not.

Williams’ passing has people realize that comedians are not always in the best mental state. Mental health in general needs to be taken more seriously than ever. His kind, funny nature has brought people happiness, but it unfortunately couldn’t save himself from suicide contributed by Lewy body disease. For his sake, we all should be kind to one another to people we don’t know well.
