The Only Fools and Horses legend lost his first partner to cancer in 1995

David Jason is one of the country’s most beloved stars and in all of his years in the showbiz industry he has never been far from the public eye. The Only Fools and Horses actor, now aged 81, has also been in the spotlight in terms of his private life. For many who didn’t know, David only became a father twenty years ago.

Sophie Mae Jason was born in 2001 and she is the David’s first child with his now-wife, Gill Hinchcliffe. However, Gill was not his first love.

Myfanwy Talog got into a relationship with David back in 1977, and the pair were lifelong companions for over 18 years. Sadly, she died from cancer in 1995 and the duo never tied the knot or had any children.

Actress Myfanwy starred in television series Ryan and Ronnie (1971-1971), Hawkmoor (1978), Taff Acre (1981), Crossroads: Kings Oak (1979), The Magnificent Evans (1984), and other TV programmes.
