That 90s Show Set Photos Reveal Red, Kitty & New Basement

Photos from the set of Netflix's new That '90s Show preview Red and Kitty Forman in their kitchen, and give a look at the iconic basement.

Photos from the set of Netflix’s That ’90s Show spinoff series provide a look at Red and Kitty Forman in their original Wisconsin home. That 70’s Show stars, Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp, are returning as the Formans for the summer of 1995 in the upcoming spinoff. This 10-part episodic will follow Leia Forman (Callie Haverda), daughter of Eric (Topher Grace) and Donna (Laura Prepon) from the original series. Production has officially begun, and as photos of the cast on set surface, fan nostalgia is swelling.

Production has begun on the That ’70s Show reboot following the next generation of Point Place teenagers. It’s the mid-90s and Leia Forman is visiting her grandparents for the summer, living under the strict rules of Red and Kitty while bonding with several local teenagers. The show’s original creators, Bonnie Turner and Terry Turner, are teaming up with their daughter Lindsey Turner to bring the familiar Forman household back to life with new antics from a younger, rowdier ensemble. Alongside Haverda, Netflix has cast several fresh faces, including Mace Coronel (Colin in Black & White), Ashley Aufderheide (Emergence), and Maxwell Acee Donovan (Gabby Duran & The Unsittables).

Photos posted to Twitter by @josh_kunis reveal the set of That ’90s Show, with Red and Kitty mid-conversation at their kitchen breakfast nook. The iconic basement is also shown, a near perfect replica of the same That ’70s Show setting that served as the breeding grounds for all the humorous, youthful escapades that Eric, Donna, and their friends got up to twenty years prior. A snapshot of the slate also reveals that famous sitcom director, Gail Mancuso (Modern Family, Gilmore Girls), will have a hand in the reboot. See the photos below:

Gregg Mettler will serve as the showrunner for the reboot, bringing the angst-filled world of teenagers in the ’90s to life. Point Place has a new crew, and two decades later, the show promises the same funny, romantic, rambunctious feeling of its predecessor with new fashion trends and music genres. That ’90s Show is a launching point for many of the young stars who will take over Wisconsin’s most beloved basement.

Photos from set have also sparked speculation, as fans reminisce on Fox’s hit sitcom and hope for additional cameos from the That ’70s Show cast. At this time, there are no confirmed appearances from Eric, Donna, or the other members of the 70’s gang. Even without additional support from That ’70s Show stars, Red and Kitty will take on fun new challenges as grandparents and may allude to the whereabouts of other original characters. As That ’90s Show production continues, fans await with bated breath for more previews of Leia Forman and her new friends and also hope to get a glimpse of any familiar faces who might return.
