Only Fools and Horses star Nicholas Lyndhurst confirms he’s not retiring from acting amid rumours
The star's son died after suffering a brain hemorrhage caused by a rare cancer
Only Fools and Horses icon Nicholas Lyndhurst will continue his acting career and will not be retiring, his representative confirmed.
Following the death of his son Archie who died of a brain tumour in September 2020, the star remained out of the spotlight .
But the actor’s spokesperson blasted the rumours as “ridiculous”, according to Metro .
The actor known for his role as Rodney Trotter along with his wife were left “devastated” after the loss of their 19-year-old son.
The CBBC actor Archie suffered a brain hemorrhage caused by a rare cancer which led to him dying in his sleep.
According to Metro Nicholas’ reps said: “They said: ‘It is complete nonsense that Nicholas Lyndhurst is retired or retiring.
“Of course he and his wife are devastated by the sudden loss of their young son but Mr. Lyndhurst will continue his career with any parts and scripts that attract him.”
But previously the star’s friend Laurence Marks had suggested that the Only Fools and Horses actor wouldn’t be returning to the industry following his son’s death.
Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday , Laurence had previously said:
“Nicholas underwent tragedy. It must have broken his heart. It would break anyone’s heart.
“He has always kept himself to himself and now he’ll do that more than ever.’
“‘Now he’s lost his son, he’ll never come out again. I doubt we will see him do any more acting.”
