Only Fools and Horses’ David Jason addresses ‘feud’ with co-star after concern from fans

Sir David Jason has set the record straight after fans were left concerned he was "feuding" with his co-star, but the Only Fools and Horses legend has discussed his close bond

Only Fools And Horses star Sir David Jason has dismissed rumours of a rift with co-star Nicholas Lyndhurst.

The 83-year-old actor, who shot to fame as Del Boy in the hit BBC comedy alongside Nicholas’s Rodney Trotter, insisted they are “You couldn’t have had a better co-partner than Nic.

We liked and respected each other so much, we were genuinely good friends. You couldn’t have had a better co-partner than Nic.”

He added: “We liked and respected each other so much, we were genuinely good friends” The show, which ran from 1981 to 2003, is a beloved family series for many households – with all generations tuning in to watch the classic.

Only Fools and Horses is making a return this month with a special 90-minute Christmas documentary. The show, titled The Story Of Only Fools and Horses at Christmas, will air on Christmas Eve on Channel 5.

Joining Sir David Jason will be his on-screen wife Tessa Peake-Jones, who played Raquel Trotter, as well as Theo Paphitis from Dragon’s Den and Strictly Come Dancing star Krishnan Guru-Murthy.

Fans can expect to see Sir David reflect on the iconic moments from the award-winning comedy, including secrets from its legendary Christmas episodes. He’ll also reveal which festive episode he thinks is the best.

An insider told The Sun: “It wouldn’t be Christmas without the Trotters, so this is a great way for viewers to get their Only Fools fix. Producers were delighted when David was passed fit to appear following his surgery, so the special will be cushty for fans.”

In a recent chat, Sir David shared his feelings after filming his last scenes. He said: “We got a standing ovation in that studio for seven minutes. They wouldn’t let us go.” Director Tony Dow added: “I remember being in that studio and saying to the floor manager, ‘That’s it, that’s the end of Only Fools And Horses’. The whole place exploded, the audience went potty.”
