‘Angriest Man in Brooklyn’ Trailer: Mila Kunis Makes Robin Williams Panic

The trailer for 'The Angriest Man in Brooklyn' stars Robin Williams as a man with a lot to apologize for, and only 90 minutes to do it.

Edith Piaf’s “Non, je ne regrette rien” is a nice song to listen to, but it’s probably not a sentiment that too many people share. In The Angriest Man in Brooklyn, Robin Williams plays Henry Altmann, a man who spends half his time seething and the other half yelling, only to get doused in metaphorical cold water when he’s told that he has a brain aneurysm that leaves him with just 90 minutes left to live.

Henry resolves to set things right with his family and friends in the short time that he has left, but there’s just one problem: his doctor (Mila Kunis) plucked the number out of the air in order to shut him up, and really all he needs to do is stay calm and seek medical attention. Trying to amend her mistake, she pursues Henry around Brooklyn as he races to reconcile with his wife (Melissa Leo), his brother (Peter Dinklage), his son (Hamish Linklater) and his best friend (Richard Kind).

The Angriest Man in Brooklyn is out next month and Lionsgate has just released the first trailer. It contains quite a bit of yelling.

The Angriest Man in Brooklyn is based on a rather obscure Israeli comedy film called The 92 Minutes of Mr. Baum, which was released back in 1997. It’s the first feature film that Phil Alden Robinson has directed since The Sum of All Fears and the update was scripted by Daniel Taplitz (Chaos Theory).

With a limited release in direct competition with X-Men: Days of Future PastThe Angriest Man in Brooklyn is unlikely to dominate the May box office and this rather dull trailer doesn’t do it any favors. Still, for fans of Williams and Kunis who want to see the unlikely pair playing off one another, it might be worth at least a DVD rental.
