Actor Sheree Murphy is best known for her role as Tricia Dingle, the wife of Marlon Dingle, on the ITV soap

Actor Sheree Murphy is best known for his portrayal of Tricia Dingle in the long-running ITV soap Emmerdale.

Big-hearted Tricia, who was the daughter of Steph Forsythe and granddaughter of Alan Turner, arrived at The Woolpack out of the blue in September 1998.

Owner of the Woolpack Alan, who had a troubled relationship with his offspring, initially didn’t recognise his granddaughter but quickly took her to his heart and gave her a job at the pub.

She was a big hit behind the bar, especially with the men of the village, and could wrap Alan around her little finger.

Although her role as barmaid wasn’t always plain sailing – she once bought fireworks that ended up setting the pub alight and on another memorable occasion ended up in a mud wrestling match with rival barmaid Mandy Dingle.

Tricia’s love life was certainly colourful during her time in the village and she had a few ill-fated love affairs when she first arrived in the village from Terry Woods to village bad boy Scott Windsor.
