That ’90s Show: Every That ’70s Show Actor Who Could Return

Netflix is revisiting That ’70s Show with follow-up comedy That ’90s Show and plenty of familiar faces and original actors could be looking to make a return to Point Place. The new series centers around Leia Forman, daughter of Donna and Eric, who visits her grandparents for the summer in Wisconsin. Under the watchful eye of Red and Kitty Forman, Leia makes friends quickly and soon gets up to shenanigans similar to her parents when they were teenagers.

That ’70s Show took place in the fictional town of Point Place, Wisconsin, where Eric Forman wafted through life, often smoking weed with his friends in the ‘70s Show circle in a recurring gag and causing headaches for family patriarch Red Forman, a grumpy veteran eager to put his foot up the rear of anyone he felt needed it. That honor typically fell to Eric, who constantly disappointed his father because of his lack of direction and predilection for screwing things up. Matriarch Kitty was a nurse, always trying to keep father and son from κıււıոɡ one another while navigating menopause, drinking, and Red’s inability to read her mind.

With Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith already confirmed to return as Kitty and Red, attention turns to who else from That ’70s Show might make an appearance. Hyde seems unlikely due to legal proceedings involving multiple rape charges still underway against Danny Masterson. Tanya Roberts, who played Donna’s mother Midge, passed away at the beginning of this year. Similarly, Lisa Robin Kelly who played Eric’s sister Laurie Forman ԁıеԁ in 2013. The character was re-cast with Christina Moore in the role for six episodes in season 6 but she didn’t return after that. But there are still plenty of original cast members who could return and here are the most likely characters from That ’70s Show to stop by the Forman house in That ’90s Show.

Eric & Donna

Donna (Laura Prepon) and Eric (Topher Grace) are the clear frontrunners to return. That ’90s Show centers around their daughter and takes place in Eric’s childhood home, which happens to be next door to Donna’s childhood home. The odds are high at least one of them will make an appearance, if not both. It will certainly be interesting to see what the pair have been up to the past 15 years, especially since Leia is most likely to be about the same age.

In fact, in the finale of That ’70s Show, Eric had just returned from Africa for a New Year’s Eve party celebrating the arrival of 1980. Though they had broken up while Eric was overseas, Donna and Eric immediately rekindled their romance on the hood of the Vista Cruiser before heading upstairs to ring in the new year with their family and friends. Is that the night Donna got pregnant? It will be interesting to see how the pair reacted to being parents so soon after. It’s also worth noting that just because they’re Leia’s parents, it doesn’t mean Eric and Donna are still together.

Jackie & Fez

Jackie and Fez ended That ’70s Show as a couple who were just starting their romantic relationship. It will be interesting to see if it lasted. Wilmer Valderrama, who played Fez, is probably the most changed of the cast. Valderrama currently stars on NCIS and buffed himself up prior to the role. If Fez returns it’s a good chance his transformation will be attributed to Jackie, who could have finally turned Fez into a man with style.

If the two characters are no longer together, Fez could be rocking his break-up body he formed in retaliation for the end of their relationship. Despite always looking for love, Milu Kunis’ Jackie never was one to keep a boyfriend for too long. As easily the two most amusingly annoying characters from That ’70s Show, perhaps they’ve discovered in each other the one person who they can’t push away.

Kelso, Brooke & Betsy

That '90s Show: Every That '70s Show Actor Who Could Return

In That ’70s Show’s finale, Kelso (Ashton Kutcher) revealed he was working security for Playboy following him being kicked out of police training when he set the police academy on fire. Ashton Kutcher left That ’70s Show after season 7 to move to Chicago to be with Brooke (Shannon Elizabeth) and their daughter, Betsy. Betsy would only be about two years older than Leia, and could very well have some form of relationship in 1995 due to the friendship of their parents.

How Kelso’s evolved since January 1, 1980, is anyone’s guess. He tried to change for his daughter but he is who he is. Kelso would be the most likely to have a trail of failed relationships in his wake, but having a daughter with Brooke means they’re connected forever. Regardless of where Kelso’s at in his life in 1995, when That ’90s Show takes place, it’s doubtful he’ll have evolved too much. A smart Kelso who doesn’t get up to mischief would be no Kelso at all.

Leo & Bob

It’s hard to imagine Bob (Don Stark) – who once sent Donna to Catholic school in That ’70s Show – has gone all that far. His gregarious and slightly dopey nature drove Red nuts, but they were good friends, and now they share a granddaughter together. Bob was supposed to be moving to Florida to run a bait shop when That ’70s Show ended, but that can be easily retconned. After all, Kitty and Red changed their minds at the last minute. Hopefully, Bob did, too.

As for Leo (Tommy Chong), he was a surprising character throughout That ’70s Show. A fellow veteran along with Red and Bob, Leo was mostly a confused hippie stoner constantly forgetting where he was or what he did. But there were moments when Leo showed true heart, most endearingly when offering advice to Hyde. Leo brought laughs to every scene and it would be a shame not to see Tommy Chong visit That ’90s Show when it arrives on Netflix.
