Preserved farmhouse from John Wayne’s 1969 film ‘True Grit’ sells for $11 million. In all its glory, nothing represents the American Old West better than the well-preserved Colorado ranch from John Wayne’s 1969 film, “True Grit.”
And now, for a whopping $10.95 million, someone can capture a piece of cinematic history. The owner has carefully preserved three iconic buildings from the film by constructing them. a modern cabin at a guarded distance in 2019.
Spanning a vast area of 374 acres, the three structures of the estate featured in the film remain the same .The main, habitable property was newly built in 2019 and measures over 6,000 square feet, with five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Features of the main residence include a large two-story room with a towering stone fireplace and views of the San Juan Mountains.
The property also features a 1,500 square meter guest cabin. Located in Placerville, the entire ranch is nestled in the mountains and 30 km from the popular Telluride ski and film festival site.
Billed as a “sportsman’s paradise,” the property is located near some of Colorado’s most pristine hiking and fishing destinations with moose and moose populations.Wayne would go on to win his only Oscar for “True Grit,” starring opposite Glenn Campbell.
